1455430 2018-11-14 18:55:00 Paul - to be fair the woman had come home from work. It was HNZ but no sign or rusting cars of whatever....I guess if you turned up and strange people were all over your place you might get a bit pissed off.

Anyway, Snuffs didn't do well after her return.
I dithered all day but took her to vet last night.
No after hours vet here, you have to call them out to the clinic.....

She has had kidney issues for ages now - albeit not affecting her a lot, but she went downhill fast.

So she is now dead. No point in messing about, especially in a strange place, it's not curable....

She was 3.4kg when we left, and was always thin, but last night she was 2.8kg...and that's not just missing for a few days...

She was old...16/17. I forget her birthday, but she got spayed at age 4 months in 2002. So I guess really 17th birthday...round now or so.

The vets were lovely...I went to Care Vets....and the on call lady was from there, not one of the others. So I'll go back with the others - hopefully not anything as drastic, was wondering which vets to pick.

It was awful, another family arrived too, they had a really massive pretty neutered boy cat in back. Also 16.
He had been mauled by a husky and they were frantically trying to stem bleeding with towels etc as we waited for vet to arrive.

He died too.
Stink day for all, including the vets.

1455431 2018-11-14 20:57:00 Hey piroska.... next time you are sitting on the kerb, look for a red Toyota Hi Ace with baby car seats in it and an extremely handsome driver. That will be me! I am driving in The Nui most mornings and afternoons. Williams, Bestall, Masefield, Kelvin Streets at this point. Give me a wave and I'll stop and say hello. :)

Sorry about your moggie. I know what it is like to lose a furry friend!

Ken :)

1455432 2018-11-15 01:51:00 I tend not to be sitting on kerbs much, lol.....

Off to vet with cat 2 now. He has hurt himself, how not sure yet.

1455434 2018-11-16 02:53:00 Nah...cat claws...or teeth. I think claws.
Could well have been the dead one - she did always hate him, and not feeling well....

Anyway he had his medicine at vets and a pain injection and is feeling better today, looks a bit funny with his shaved patch (She had to do that to find the holes)
