2018-09-18 00:22:00 | OK - I have two or three new kernals all waiting for confirmation, but with what I've learned here, I haven't invoked them. I only accept and install updates to things that I know I am running and likely would like the security the updates offer. That --- or the updates take care of a fault somewhere - maybe I've seen it or maybe not. I have sworn OFF of accepting new kernal - remember all the troubles I had with my Alpha WiFi? Since I haven't taken the bait for new kernals, I haven't had any trouble with my WiFi adapters at all.

2018-09-18 07:49:00 | Ha ha and they say only Windows has these type of problems. Just shows it doesn't matter which OS you use. | gary67 (56) | |
2018-09-19 17:05:00 | Hey Gary ---- remember SP2? | SurferJoe46 (51) | |
2018-09-19 19:34:00 | Yes I do, no problem for me but was for plenty of others. My comment wasn't aimed at you Joe, it was aimed at certain other evangelical members who now they have changed to Linux are like reformed smokers. I wont name them as they know who they are. As I said all OS's have their bad days.

2018-09-19 22:19:00 | I don't know what he does, but he does seem to have a lot of ptoblems. I haven't, and it's been nearly a year. Nor any of the other people I know running Linux.... The problem is some people fiddle and don't have any idea as to how to fix a problem when it occurs. Some try and only make things worse. There's a HUGE difference between making a oops and being able to fix it yourself with a good idea as to what you are doing or muddle through hoping it will sort its self. This happens with ALL OS's. Linux, Windows OSx. All the problems I see with customers computers, personally rarely have had them on mine, hardware's nothing special, OS is the same its what you do with it that counts. Sure I made some real OOPS!!! when trying something but always have an escape plan if required. To be fair with any OS it takes people whom have the knowledge to give a working answer, or at least a reasonable point in the right Directions. Linux can be "interesting " even at the basic OS level (mint etc) if you don't get the right answers or like often happens answer that beat around the bush and say nothing. Bit like this thread started by SJ, there's really only one answer by Kame #9 That even comes close to answering the question. Try figuring out some of the enterprise Editions of Linux, like I'm doing at the moment --- yeah not "fun at all" Its like pulling teeth in the dark blindfolded. Wouldn't even consider asking here, as I know no one could answer that would be helpful. Even the OS suppliers say there is very little help available. To quote Gary: As I said all OS's have their bad days.

2018-09-20 02:13:00 | @gary67 No harm - no foul. I was just making sure that the 'other' side of the opsys debates had it's dirty laundry out on the line too. Sometimes - and you know I'm being kinda sarcastic here - it's not always the opsys - but the opsys-er! Fault and responsibility aren't the same thing..... people do the responsible thing all day long and yet faults in things, whether they be bridges that fall, lawnmowers that chuck up a rock that breaks a big window (don't ask!), or cars that have the wheels fall off.... these can cause loss of life, broken cow legs, (add snarky answers here if you like - I just did) or just a bad hair day. It all counts. You and me? Still fine as frog's hair. Thanks.

2018-09-20 03:13:00 | As I said all OS's have their bad days. Quite right Gary, every OS has the odd bad day, but Win10 having 1000 bad days in 3 years is right over the top and theyre still trying to fix it.

2018-09-20 03:47:00 | but Win10 having 1000 bad days in 3 years is right over the top and theyre still trying to fix it. Sorry BM but no one can fix the person behind the keyboard if they fiddle, no matter what OS. As I mentioned try getting help for some Linux OS's LOL Next to impossible, in fact the one I'm working with at the moment under the help section the first bullet point says: Try to solve the problem yourself first by checking the Linux name wiki, which BTW is no help at all. But about this thread-- Why has NO ONE aprt from one possible reason actually given a working solution ?? notice you're not to forward in answering any problems - whys that ?

2018-09-20 06:13:00 | I see you now have Microsofts Motto in your signature Wainui. :D Quite relevant to Win10 I think. :) 9044
