| 1453305 | 2018-09-04 01:28:00 | This morning I downloaded the 64 bit "upgrade" version. 3.0.4. It plays music but not Video DVDs. I initially I used File Hippo then uninstalled it. I then went to Official Supplier Website -VideoLan and downloaded from there. Same result. -music fine , Video DVDs -no. Using Windows Media Player the Video DVD worked fine. I have uninstalled Version 3.0.4 and reinstalled VLC 3.0.3 which works fine. I recall that a few months ago they released a similar faulty "upgrade" -cant remember if it was 3.0.1 or 3.0.2. and we had to wait for next Upgrade for it to work normally again. Neil |

You should always go direct to the official website whenever possible, all these hosting places like filehippo are rife with adds and misleading download buttons and in some cases like cnet add unwanted crap to the installer. It's a pet peeve of mine when you are trying to download some software and there's a giant green "download" button right in the middle of the screen for something entirely different and the actual download link is off to the side somewhere and tiny. It's a blatant attempt to catch out unwary people and should be stopped. |
