1453283 2018-09-03 17:25:00 . . . . but if i just wait a bit (15 seconds or so) it clears up and starts running correctly again . Then it puts up that little card asking me what to do, overlaid on the page that was stalled and has restarted already .

Sorry if I obfuscated that last line or two .

This has started happening in my Android-Samsung Tab "A" with Stylus-type tablet .

Is Samsung starting to nudge me into a new tablet by manufacturing these "problems" to force me to upgrade?

I don't doubt that they do that .

I cite my Nexus 7 inch that ran really really fast for a couple of years and then the wheels fell off all of a sudden and it now takes a full minute to go to a page . . . . even after a factory reset or purge . Even streaming YT or Netflix on the Nexus 7 has become a tooth pull . . . . a very slow tooth pull .

Am I full of junk . . . or better yet . . . . is MY TABLET full of junk . . . and needs a purge or return to factory original settings?

I've gotten it to a condition I rather like . . . with the exception to this stalling condition, and would rather not like to do a factory reset or purge .

1453288 2018-09-04 02:40:00 As to the Nexus 7, I had one. great little tablet. Only has 1G of RAM and can't handle the newer versions of Android it auto updated to. I put mine back to android 4.4 (I think I gave it away so can't check) after updating it made it run like a dog. Back on the older android it runs really smooth again. I researched all kinds of things trying to fix android 5 (again not sure but I think it was 5) and had some success, but nothing worked as well as reverting back to 4.4 which was a little tricky but not too bad. Of course it depends if we are talking version 1 or version 2 of the nexus 7, mine was version 1.

I don't think samsung do anything deliberately to slow down their older tablets, it just happens naturally as tablets keep getting more powerful and adding more RAM and newer versions of android are written to take advantage of that. I have a galaxy tab S2 I got to replace my Nexus 7, the tab S4 just got announced and my S2 is still flying. The difference is both the nexus 7 and the tab A are budget mid range tablets and the S2 is a much more expensive model with a faster CPU, more RAM, and a better screen.

It could also just be your wifi slowing down at times, or internet traffic issues.

1453289 2018-09-04 08:12:00 My current tablet is the SMP580 with Android v7 . 0 . . this is the one that's having browser stalling problems .

My NEXUS7 Version1 . . . . isn't easily at hand right now . . . but I'll check to see if I can roll it back to original Android Version tomorrow or the next day . The wife is using it .

1453292 2018-09-07 03:03:00 OK - this weekend is coming and so's my attempt to re-convert the Nexus7 v1 back to the OE Android opsys.

Thanks - Hopefully I don't create a very skinny and slippery doorstop.
