1453212 2018-08-31 23:43:00 Aye?

Enter my PIN to log into Win and now it tells me there's an error and I need to choose an alternative option (password) .

Just found the below - before I try this does anyone agree this is the best resolution?

Tks

There are two (2) ways to fix 0x8009002d Error:

Advanced Computer User Solution (manual update):

1) Start your computer and log on as an administrator .

2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore .

3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next .

4) Select the most recent system restore point from the "On this list, click a restore point" list, and then click Next .

5) Click Next on the confirmation window .

6) Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished .

Novice Computer User Solution (completely automated):

1) Download (0x8009002d) repair utility .

2) Install program and click Scan button .

3) Click the Fix Errors button when scan is completed .

4) Restart your computer .

1453213 2018-09-01 00:18:00 Option 1 "MAY" sort it, but depending on whats happened, even running system restore it may still refuse you entry.

Putting in the original Password is the better option. Generally you need to have made a password BEFORE changing to a Pin. Normally I dont worry about the slower fixes, I boot from media I have( 1 of the 3 I have usually works) blow away the passwords (Dont need to know the originals) and either leave it blank, or fix the problem then put a password back.

The 2nd option given-- DONT DO IT-- most of those programs are paid, AND when you think about it Number 2 ( Install program and click Scan button.) Errrrrr How can you install anything if you are locked out. Sometimes if the main account has become corrupted you may not be able to get in the admin anyway.

Those programs don't do anything that's available from a Windows 10 Install Media or recovery options anyway. There is no "magic" repair.

There should be an option to reset the password /pin Via another Method(s)

1453214 2018-09-01 00:25:00 Alrighty - cheers. This is why I ask.

I can use my p/word - I was just pissed that a part of my 3-week old PC has shat the bed already.

Life goes on.

1453215 2018-09-01 01:48:00 There's many Articles on how to disable "fast Start-up" Once into the computer again disable that.

It should be called fast break ;) The idea behind it is so the computers start quicker, but in reality it does more harm than good.
