| 1132828 | 2010-08-29 10:50:00 | trying to download a linux distro(ubuntu 10.04) via utorrent on my laptop. but 3 times in the last hour or so i lose my internet connection. i have reset the router/modem, restored to factory settings, reflashed the firmware but it keeps droping connection. i'm gonna get one of these (pbtech.co.nz) when i can afford it, but is there anything i can do to temporarily fix this in some way?? modem is a dlink 502T gen2 , router is a belkin wireless g :pf1mob::thanks |

Are you using any splitters before Jack in the wall? If so please remove it So your connection should be Telephone Jack --> ADSL filter --> Computer . Disconnect any other phones you have in the house to see if it makes any difference to your connection . Try this first - if no Good ; prob . best to replace the DLink . Which ISP are you with? Most ISP's will give U a new router as long as U sign into a 12 month contract . Cheers! |
