854179 2010-02-01 05:05:00 I bought mine in Japan in about 1969 or so after my first tour in VietNam . I returned with it and had it in storage for a whole bunch of years and recently just dug it out again .

I put some new new Gibson Bright Nickel Wounds on it and it sings very well .

Just wondering if anyone in Upsidedown Land has ever seen, heard or played one .

There isn't a whole lot of real info in Google - just some anecdotes and tidbits - but youse guys live in a different part of the world and I was just wonderin' - that's all .

I know the factory burned down in the mid 1970s, and that they made some fantastic copies of Les Paul Arches and Strats/Telecasters, but not a whole bunch on acoustics is available .

854180 2010-02-01 05:18:00 Yes, my son has heard of the name and says that Kasuga was a level entry guitar brand that was popular in the 70's in NZ and says the "Cherry blossom" may have referred to either the color, or cherrywood, what the body was made of. Glad to hear it still "sings" well.

Thanks to you and your son. Very impressive indeed.

I only remember the name "Cherry Blossom" from the sales receipt - all the writing inside the box on the label is in Japanese.

854182 2010-02-01 05:28:00 Son is pretty much up with guitar makes and styles and has bought an electric Dean V in snakeskin pattern and it has an "all through" neck and body of mahogany. Got it from Amazon.com and it took six days to get here!
I'll post a pic on here if could work out how to!
