It is interesting - is it not - that racism and insensitivity only works one way. If a European (HATE that maori word - I am European) says something - anything - against maori that is perceived as racist and/or insensitive they are castigated but it seems that the maoris (or any other race) can say anything they like about European with impunity. Personally I don't care what you call me as long as it's not late for dinner. It's about time all this PC crap was dispensed with. What's wrong with calling a spade a spade? |

Some gutless maris tried to push the PM around last year even when he had his arm in a cast so much for noble warriors. Personally I would like our national day to be either the day Mr A.J Tasman spotted the country or the day the pomgolians gave us independence or dominion status. |

What's wrong with Dominion Day? The legal fraternity have a day off on September 26th. Why not all the country? For those among us who don't know - and to be fair it's not a well known fact - Dominion Day is the day in 1907 when NZ became a dominion within the British Empire - independence. The maori activists can have their National Protest Day and the rest of us can celebrate our independence. What a good idea!:thumbs: |
