2010-09-02 21:51:00 | So we have a power issue. It seems that when the computers are runnng and the dryer is switched on it has the potential to push the current higher than the breaker (not sure about this terminology) and trip the circuit. This is bad as the entire computer room loses power shutting down everything in it in the worst way possible. I know the simple answer is to shut down the computers but this is not practical as the dryer is used at all hours and the main three desktops are on 24/7. Does anyone have a practical solution to this?

2010-09-02 22:18:00 | Wow 5 monitors? Could you use a kvm setup or something? | nedkelly (9059) | |
2010-09-02 22:24:00 | Yes I think overloading is the cause. I remember when I was a kid Dad fixing a overload by putting in a bigger wire, I know nothing about electricity but is this a option? Ned 2 main desktops 2 monitors each hardly extreme. 1 for the server.

2010-09-02 22:25:00 | Cant see why not, it'll probably have to be re-wired (the house). Youre not plugging all of these into one power point are you | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-09-02 22:31:00 | No there are two physical points in the room | DeSade (984) | |
2010-09-02 22:32:00 | Probably need a few more power points. Which may fix it. 9 / 10 on each sounds a bit too much | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-09-02 22:34:00 | It is too much and I don't really like it like that but there isn't a lot of choice. Sparkys are expensive.
