855739 2010-02-05 22:34:00 Thats the problems when something becomes popular - it gets targeted.

Mind you any good (note good) antivirus should have caught it before it allowed it to install in the first Place.
an antivirus program should be used to scan and remove any infections," the AMO team explains. preventions better than cure.

855740 2010-02-05 23:02:00 Yeah, you're right about prevention.

Haven't used these add-ons myself

Hope no-one on here got caught out.

855742 2010-02-05 23:52:00 Get a load of this from a M$ spokesmouth!

However, Microsoft MVP Sandi Hardmeier is not satisfied with this explanation, as according to her, Mozilla's policy for some time now is to re-scan add-ons periodically. "PWS:Win32/Ldpinch.gen detection has been around since at least February 2008. So would somebody like to explain to me why that Trojan was not detected by Mozilla until after 'two additional malware detection tools (were) added to the validation chain'?

[...] Just what 'malware detection tools' were they using up until now? Win32.bifrose […] ...........has been around since as early as 2006. Why was Mozilla oblivious to the existence of the Trojans until 'CatThief' reported it to them?" she asks.

From Wikipedia
Version 4.0

Firefox 4.0 has been tentatively scheduled to use the Gecko 1.9.4 rendering engine. It has had preliminary user interface mockups for Windows,[59] Mac OS X,[60] and Linux[61] as a continuation of the ones for version 3.7. Mozilla's product road map has dated the release of Firefox 4.0 for October-November 2010, but it might not be released before early 2011.[62] This version will offer a new user interface and multi-touch gesture support.[63] The official firefox forums have also given indication that this release will see a 64-bit version of the browser appearing.

855745 2010-02-06 07:06:00 I got news for ya - I GOT FF 4.0 already!!!!!

It's in beta, but it runs just fine. Of course, I don't know how to get it into PCLOS so I'll just stick with XP for now.

And its where? So where from - provide links. Google search doesn't exactly jump up with legit downloads only mock up themes.
