| 855292 | 2010-02-10 08:33:00 | Its a zillion times better than 20 years ago. Maybe all the crazies died out by being hung out to dry with the speed up slow down method. Confess to doing that in my 13B (grossly reworked) Mazda RX7 Series 1 years ago on motorway exits to stop the clowns from cutting in front of me then taking the same exit. Just speed up so they either missed their exit or they dropped back which they must of hated. |

| 855293 | 2010-02-10 08:51:00 | i must admit it certain is far far better then it was 10-15 years ago. in those days i could do a 20km trip between two towns and always either be involved (on the receiving end) or witness a near miss (usually a head on). it got on ya nerves after a while. passing lanes where 150km/h drag races and some ended in tight corners so it was very common to be 3 wide going around a corner. however i still dodge a couple of head ons a year, get pushed off the road a few times by trucks, so while its better its still no where near good enough. |

| 855295 | 2010-02-10 09:43:00 | Its always been a bit wild driving up North same as East Cape, Otara. not really. in that example its not far north of Auckland. but Auckland to Whangerai takes 5 spots of the top 10 most deadly roads in NZ. the road, while not great in places, is not all that bad. the main problem is the drivers. |
