855677 2010-02-06 17:36:00 Every time we have a rugby game, all the aussies, pommies, and the south africans (definitely the worst of the lot, IMO), they always cheer against the All Black/Black Caps/whoever is playing.
They are always against the home teams. ALWAYS.
[/rant]

You are joking? It would be like me living in Auckland (which I did for four years) and supporting the Blues! Never happen. It would not matter where I lived EVER and it wouldnt matter how long I lived there I would always always always be a CHIEFS supporter. I have family that live in Aussie, they have probably lived there longer than you have been alive, and they will never cheer for the home team, it's ALL BLACKS all the way.

Also there are three official languages in NZ.

855678 2010-02-06 22:40:00 Cant be arsed reading all the whining for 6 pages, I get the point, nothing will ever change in NZ to stop it, it will just get worse until we have lost our identity anyway.

Just start wearing grass skirts and praising aussies already!

855679 2010-02-07 00:03:00 This issue is world wide, the average Pom thinks there country is over run and its a common reason for immigrating here or OZ.

In actual fact there are far less immigrants in the US or the UK than here or OZ (per population).

Sort the "Immigrants as percentage of national population"

Camels in Australia are the only feral herds of their kind in the world and are estimated to number more than 1,000,000 with the capability of doubling in size every nine years.[1] The Australian camels are descendants of camels imported into Australia, beginning in the mid-1800s, to help lay the foundations of the nation. Shipments came largely from the Indian subcontinent, but animals were also landed from Muscat, Yemen, Iraq and the Canary Islands.

855686 2010-02-07 05:38:00 Ah we were poor alright, my old Dad used to say to me, "Money doesn't buy you happiness, son".

I was happier then and I had nothin'. We used to live in this tiny old house with great big holes in the roof.

Well, when I say 'house' it was only a hole in the ground covered by a sheet of tarpaulin, but it was a house to us.

We didn't av ta listen to what out Terr calls music, in them days.

The origin of the "Poor" story

I think the full quote re patriotism is "My country right or wrong. When right to keep it right, when wrong to put it right."
