I've never actually seen a wired remote (let alone a wired Teletext remote) except on some steam-driven AWA/Thorn CTVs, way back in the days when Jesus only had a party line and everybody could listen in to your conversations.

Come to think of it, the left-footers still have a party line, so that the man in the little room can get his vicarious thrills.

In fact, I think it was a Baird. I was in the UK in the early 80's and that's what we could hire from the local hire place. So you're right about the steam-driven part.

At the time we thought the remote was the bees knees! Damn hard to lose the remote too!

er.yes. Depending on your definition and all that.

For me, it's HD or not, no sort of, how they transmit semantic type stuff.
Anyway, not bothered.........
