1134159 2010-09-02 23:26:00 Ok so say the kitchen is isolated and the laundry/computer room are on the same circuit.
since this is not a all the time thing surely upping the current a little would be ok.

There must be quite a bit of redundancy built into it to tolerate a small rise.

5 yr old house, should have plenty of power....you have 3 pcs running?, what size PSU do they have, i wouldnt expect the breaker to pop until you got over 2400w...add up everything!

1134160 2010-09-02 23:34:00 I listed everything in that room pretty much in the previous posts, the PC's have PSU's of 1000, 850, and 800. DeSade (984)
1134161 2010-09-02 23:35:00 Depending on how many floors you have, My house is 3 floors and I have heaps of breakers in my box nedkelly (9059)
1134162 2010-09-02 23:37:00 Oh that could be one reason why. nedkelly (9059)
1134163 2010-09-02 23:39:00 Its only single story 5 bedrooms office(comp room) two lounges pretty standard.

There are a few things in the fuse box, probably breakers. maybe 12 of them.

1134166 2010-09-03 00:39:00 Dont run them from the same power board / point / room Speedy Gonzales (78)
1134167 2010-09-03 00:40:00 A cheap UPS (or 2) could be used to isolate the PC's from any surges caused by the dryer switching on - assuming it's a surge issue & not a steady-state power drain. You could leave all the accessories (monitors, etc) off the UPS & just power the main boxen.

Are those PSU ratings so high because they're powering extreme gaming rigs, or are they just there for power stability? If the latter I doubt whether you'd be using anywhere near the rated power. You could try & work out their consumption by measuring the rate your spinny disc in your meter rotates, assuming you can keep everything else in the house stable for a short time & maybe switch off 1 PC at a time if it's not too important to lose for a few minutes...

1134168 2010-09-03 00:41:00 I don't have a option there the closest points outside the room are not close enough and with a 4yr old running around the danger of the cord is too great DeSade (984)
