| 855232 | 2010-02-05 08:13:00 | There appear to be some here with road skills that would barely qualify them to be a pedestrian on a 1M square ice floe, 1200 Km from the nearest other person. ;) | R2x1 (4628) | ||

| 855234 | 2010-02-05 10:13:00 | If one of these clowns is exceeding the speed limit and comes up behind me I am not going to make it easy for him to pass . If he tailgates I slam on the brakes if he wants to overtake he aint having any of my road up to the centreline . i normally don't recommend such action but i certain now what you mean . Speeders and tailgaters need to be taught a lesson if people act like a wimps and let them go they expect that as the norm . Speed kills the faster the speed the bigger the mess . that is very very true . i see it quite often . people will "open the door" even tho its in a dangerous position and other drivers take full advantage of it and promptly nearly kill someone . by making it look like they can't just squeeze through there the person has to actually wait till its safe enough . Passing lanes have signs telling you when they end, usually 200 metres . . . . 200m and 100m signs . . . . . . . . PLUS signs at the END of the lanes . not that people actually bother to look for signs . its far safer to let a speeder past . . . . . . . . il just let them past . . . i just have to ask . . . . How can you "let them pass" ?? if you can let them pass then that means that somehow you where blocking them from passing in the first place and i doubt your swerving all over the road to do that . there is actually nothing you can do to "let them pass" short of pulling completely off the road, which (around here) means finding a driveway or side road to go into . pulling on the the shoulder just means they will clip your mirrors as they go head on into oncoming traffic forcing someone off the road . as prefect mentioned if you "let them . . . . " they expect it next time and by everybody . they now have an expectation that everyone will move out of their way . so you have now taught them the "get the ***** out of my way" attitude and i can guarantee that they now will end up smashing the crap out of your friends or family because "they where driving 5km/h to slow" . |

Sometimes weaving a little over to the other side for a look to see if the way is clear to pass. Its just aggression, wimpy people get intimated maybe slow down and pull over to the left. You have to stand up to these thugs. |

Today I saw a car coming from my right. She indicated a left turn and as nothing else around I lifted my foot off the brake and realised if she was going to turn left she had not slowed. I went back on my brake and watched the car go straight through. |

It might be someone like you that irritates a impatient idiot into over taking on a bend and kills your family, is principles worth the loss of innocent life? The fact you were obeying the 100 speed limit and were 100% in the right may be cold comfort if you contribute to a death . |

| 855238 | 2010-02-05 10:59:00 | I agree sweep the speed limit is 60 mph exceed it expect a fine etc. Never in my life been worried about slow vehicles like trucks holding me up will get past them soon or later wont make any difference to trip time. If its busy get past that slow stock truck only going to behind a nana in Morris Marina doing 50 MPH Can I assume you still drive a really old vehicle where the speedo is still calibrated in miles per hour? |

| 855239 | 2010-02-05 19:10:00 | Some tips Drive so that you can always stop (on your side of the road) in the distance that you can see to be clear. Clear means free from all hazards of every nature. And remember C.O.A.S.T C - Concentration, Consideration, Courtesy O - Observation A - Attention, Anticipation, Awareness, Attitude S - Space for Safety & Spacial Awareness T - Time to React, Time to Travel (for your journey) & Two Second Gap (between you and the vehicle in front). |
