855149 2010-02-04 22:22:00 TRademe - saviour of the poor.

Except that's not always easy down here, I looked.
And for $599 it wasn't too bad for a modern thing.

HUsband is pleased with his modifications:
Mmm.....it'll do for now.

855151 2010-02-04 22:39:00 The cons of installing a built in TV cabinet :(

We had to rearrange our lounge when we bought the 42" Bravia :)

855152 2010-02-04 22:49:00 Lost interest in the CRT now, its on the front lawn free to a good home. Or any home actually.

Good excuse to upgrade, no adjustment was going to fix that fault, it was an electronic problem for sure, in the E-W correction circuit. These are usually quick to diagnose and economic to repair, but at 8 years old perhaps the upgrade was a better option.

Funny how people think that twiddling controls will fix significant errors. User controls are intended to correct minor problems only and a sudden and major change means a fault, unless little (or large) fingers have been playing around or it has been cooked (obstructed ventilation), or dropped.

Mind you, our bedroom Panasonic CTV is now approaching 30 years of age and is still going fine, including teletext.

Needs dusting though, must get out the whip. :D

Cheers

For the avoidance of doubt, I was not suggesting that you had been twiddling controls PCT, I was referring to the well-meaning but pointless suggestions made by others.

Cheers

Ditto - and it hasn't gotten any easier to use either.

EDIT: And if I remember correctly, we had a wired remote too... :D
