OK yeah but I don't think most of us could afford to buy one of those and besides: "Available in Far East, Europe, Middle East & Africa only."
However if we wait awhile they will probably be fifty bucks at DSE :banana

855047 2010-02-03 23:43:00 I've still got my 20GB Bigfoot from 1999 which was the largest drive at the time. Was priced about as much as a SSD of today :p trinsic (6945)

855049 2010-02-04 06:44:00 It is worth going to a previous post (forums.pcworld.co.nz) I made about drives larger than 2GB mikebartnz (21)
855050 2010-02-04 06:58:00 What I can't figure out is what you guys use all this storage for.
I automatically acquire about 100 MB of scientific data every day, but a 250 GB drive has lasted me for years, and before the HDD is full, it'll be time to buy a new machine.

Downloading and/or recording movies probably. I don't download but do record TV sometimes and also put a few old home video tapes on the PC to be edited. That sort of thing gobbles up HDD space like a V8 sucks fuel.

And if you are a pseudo Japanese tourist like me the photo folders blow out pretty darn quickly.

have a look at what storage requirements DVR's require. especially when you start getting into high resolution footage.

Why can't they wait till all the old fogeys are dead before they start flinging this new-fangled mess of malarkey on an unsuspecting world? :P

Oh, I see.
And are you the same guys that need super-fast broadband?
The ones that are justifying a multi-billion dollar development by the Govt?
Just to download more movies and play games?

Pray tell me, how this is going to make a huge difference to our prosperity?

You may not have noticed but you can buy a TV Tuner and connect your computer to that and record to your hearts content which for some reason requires hard drive space.
