Like I need another excuse not to visit Hamilton !!

Went there once on a Sunday and it was shut.

Just like the toll road up here at Puhoi, they take something and either make it hard to use- watching the technologically challenged trying to operate the payment booth should be a televised sport-or immensely unpopular. I don't want my movements around a town monitored, don't care about the parking ticket aspect.

Same reason I no longer visit the Auckland CBD, parking is too expensive. Real Groovy are the real losers here as I drop a couple of hundred $'s every visit !

Still, at the moment there are still plenty of places to shop where the pesky parking parasites are still absent.

855705 2010-02-05 20:44:00 CBD means many things to many people. "Pleasant" is not high on the list. R2x1 (4628)

855709 2010-02-05 21:24:00 It is interesting and ironic that all "The Big Brother" devices designed to control the hoi polloi are provided eagerly by free market greedy capitalists out to make a buck, Orwell must be turning in his grave at the thought  Terry Porritt (14)
855710 2010-02-05 21:27:00 Well, you won't like Taupo either then. Our council has had these things installed here too and I am pretty disgusted that we weren't even told that they were going to be putting them in. I guess that we paid for them in our rates and it is ironic that we have paid for something that will also sting us for more money if we are unlucky enough to even go 1 minute over the allotted parking time!

It has taken the human out of the equation and won't allow for any flexibility at all in contesting a ticket.
