1135647 2010-09-08 22:49:00 Hi All,

I am looking to purchase a new pc , i only need a tower case , have monitor , key board etc .
My budget is around $1000 , i browse the net , play WOW , watch movies and listen to music .Anybody know of a place in Auckland that i could purchase a reliable , meaty system for that sort of money ?

I have been looking but the whole Amd v Intel processor thing has me confused , like below

AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz + ATI 5770 1GB 4GB RAM 500GB HDD

Intel Core i5 750 ATI 5670 4GB RAM 500GB HDD

thanks in advance people :)

1135651 2010-09-09 01:59:00 If you want reliability, IMO go with intel, particularly, as desade said, the i series. jareemon (5207)
1135652 2010-09-09 02:00:00 have a look at trademe, you should be able to get a great deal on a new tower. jareemon (5207)

Depends what you call a good deal. TM is crammed with exaggerations, incorrect specifications and no after sales service.

1135656 2010-09-09 05:29:00 So first choose a CPU either Intel or AMD then choose a compatible Motherboard with the correct socket for the CPU. Snorkbox (15764)
