857821	2010-02-12 23:37:00	im in shock, my sister txt me needing a next of kin details for a finance thing, i rang her when she got home wondering why she needed details........ oh she just bought a new computer signed up for so many months interest free, she cant remember brand or comp details, but she is spending $2500 or more on this comp........ i freaked.. i dont know where she bought it from.........i cant tell you what it is, and i said she coulda got something far cheaper, but the sales person said it would fit all her needs? and the only reason she getting a new one, is her old one is not coping with broadband it freezes, and its '7 years old ya no'...... i said ill have it, clean it out, defrag etc, and one of the kids can have it....... yeah fine she says. im in a state of disbelief....... some one is laughing....... beetle:rolleyes:	beetle (243)

857823	2010-02-12 23:46:00	no, she a real noob, her eldest son who is geekyfied says she bought a dud, and she took the 14 year old shopping with her, she knows nothing about puters....... sigh...... she wanted a puter that wont freeze, can surf with broaband just fine and come with its own virus protecta progs.... and she wanted microsoft works / word on it she said. but she couldnt tell me what she bought, name, brand, size etc. i think she needs a slap........... she is more freaked about the money....... 857824	2010-02-12 23:50:00	I can remember being in Harvey Normans soon after Vista came out, we weren't going to buy but the salesman was pushy, indicated that I didn't really want Vista to be told that I had no choice as WindowsXP would cease to operate after a date that he couldn't quite recall, at that point we still had WinME working on a old computer for the kids, he insisted we couldn't have, WinME had long expired . Or another time in could have been Noel Leemings, overheard a lady wanting a new monitor, just wanted it for doing photo's and some emails and web browsing, she was told that the monitor she was considering was no good for photo's, to do photo's she had to have at least this one here which was about twice the price as it was a photo compatible monitor and she bought it hook line and sinker . People have asked me about getting new systems, I have offered to put them in touch with someone who builds very good generic no name systems with full warranty etc at less than a brand name one and then they go and spend twice that on a brand name one at a retail store and then want me to set it up . Some sales people have the gift of the gab and could and probably do sell ice cubes to eskimo's . . . . . . . .	PinoyKiw (9675)

857827	2010-02-13 00:16:00	well i dont think it will be going back i think she is happy, just dont think she thought it thro how much she was to spend..... and the person who helped her managed to upgrade from what she was originally looking at i think... oh well we all make mistakes, lucky its her having to pay for it, and no as far as i know she ok with it, and it wont be going back, i guess i will see this magnificent computer tomorow when we go visit and celebrate my mums birthday.... im presuming it will have vista and loads of unwanted crap on it...lol im not even sure she knows how to put one together....hmmmm :illogical beetle	beetle (243)
857828	2010-02-13 00:40:00	A friend of ours has just done the same thing, totally overspecked/priced for what she needs & she has to wait a week for someone to come out and connect her broadband and pay xtra for that as well. 857829	2010-02-13 00:49:00	That reminds me of a customer last year, wanted a new PC, just something basic, no gaming, just emails and general web surfing - said he only had $5000 would that get him a basic PC as that what his old W98 cost him years ago--:eek: Errrrr how many do you want for that amount I asked :waughh: I said I'd be hard pushed to even make a PC that would cost that much - it would be HIGH spec for sure .	wainuitech (129)
