857329 2010-02-11 21:31:00 No real biggie, if a person is using legal and genuine software whats the problem, you more than likely wont even notice.

For the paranoid or illegal users
The update will be voluntary (meaning that you can choose not to install it) and can also be uninstalled at any time.

kenj No

In actual fact I agree with Wainuitech but I also know a lot of people complain about it phoning home etc. Or finding reasons not to validate genuine software maybe.

857331 2010-02-11 21:41:00 It won't be finding mine is genuine. I never allow updates.
SPs, yes. updates, no.
Too many times updates break things.

857332 2010-02-11 21:45:00 Yup I've never put any of these on automatic. If there's updates, I'll choose what I want to install Speedy Gonzales (78)
857333 2010-02-11 21:53:00 I mostly posted to allow people to turn their updates off if they don't want to get WAT by default.

Me. I'm not that paranoic so I don't actually care.

I image hard drives so that if anything breaks with an update I can get back to where I was.

I auto download and custom install at a time when I want to do it.

857334 2010-02-11 22:17:00 its an optional update anyway GameJunkie (72)
857335 2010-02-11 23:23:00 its an optional update anyway

And you really think so. MS smuggled in WGA under the guise of a critical update I believe. They got away with it though.
