857191 2010-02-11 06:13:00 I want HD (no problem as I live in Auckland).

1) If I get a TV with built in Freeview and replace my aerial with a UHF aerial, what happens if I later want Sky? I guess I would have to buy a separate Sky decoder. And Satellite dish. But can I use my TV with built-in Freeview?

2) If I have a UHF aerial can I run an ordinary old fashioned TV off it as a second bedroom TV?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, as far as I am aware they will both be able to work together.

You should be able to, you just need a splitter (www.partridges.uk.com).

857193 2010-02-11 06:39:00 Yes UHF antenna connects direct to your TV.
Sky box is hooked up as another input. You then select which one you want to watch.

857194 2010-02-11 12:09:00 A tv with built in freeview HD tuner still has all the usual inputs that other tvs have like composite, component and hdmi.
If you got sky it would just be connected to one of those inputs (hdmi for myskyhdi)

What has where you live got to do with it?

Yeah, the whole country doesn't get HD freeview, in Nelson we only have satellite, making the TVs with the built in tuners pointless, at least for the moment.
