+1

System specs would be a good start, for all we know the OP is running 1gig of ram on a low end processor.

Also what do you mean by smoother? what specifically appears slow loading, running games?

I agree - Do you also mean a better internet browsing experience from W7? If using Firefox, their are add ons that can make things smoother or easier. I assume you have installed and are running security/cleaning tools that many here use.

But are you having issues with W7/PC?

I just want to know whether theres anything i can do to make it run smoother, e.g. load programs faster, boot up faster, etc.

Format the drive and install XP if you want faster performance. Just don't expect ATi to give you any decent drivers.

1135853 2010-09-11 00:38:00 2GB should be OK though.

What hard drive do you have? an older drive could cause slow performance...

1135854 2010-09-11 00:40:00 Uninstall Windows, replace with Puppy Linux...sorted :D

Thumbs up to that but:
Keep Windows and use Puppy as yr main OS.A few things are
best done in Windows and the change to Puppy requires a bit of sorting but once u r
sorted it is great.

Got that right, the other PC here (a P4 2.4) should be fast enough. But the SATA 1 hdd is probably slowing it down. It takes forever just formatting the hdd, so I can put XP on it
