I'm not going to tell you, read for yourself. I don't think you'll find European and Maori versions differ much unless you read the extremists.

If R2x1's remark means what I thought it did I'll quote Michael King

"Despite a plethora of amateur theories about Melanesian, South American, Egyptian, Phoenician and Celtic colonisation of New Zealand, there is not a shred of evidence that the first human settlers were anything other than Polynesian."

King also deals with the idea that Moriori were established throughout NZ before other Maori arrived.
