| 857111 | 2010-02-11 02:28:00 | I've been meaning to give my keyboard a bit of a scrub one of these days. How do you get the keys off without wrecking them? Either my fingers aren't very strong or there's a trick to it that I don't yet know about. If you don't want to face finding and replacing the links (the ones that hold the larger keys parallel to the keyboard before you start) that mysteriously race around the room on key removal and hide, just wash the whole shooting box in the dishwasher on a short gentle cycle. Don't try using the dishwasher's fast dry cycle or you may have a keyboard like one of Salvador Dali's clocks. There is no reverse button to restore droopy keyboards on domestic dishwashers. Leave the keyboard with one corner straight down for an hour or two, then put the whole gubbins in the hot water cupboard overnight to dry. Tested twice on a keyboard that failed the ice cream test a couple of times (after severe licking to get most of the ice cream off the keyboard and onto/into a small and worried girl.) Also tested on half a dozen or so keyboards that were secreting large quantities of lecturers lunches. No failures yet. |
