| 1136617 | 2010-09-12 08:28:00 | Had a interesting experience with a Thompson TG858 v7 ADSL router this morning . I obtained the router from a business customer had been upgraded . I thought that I would replace my old Dynalink \ Wireless D-link combo for the Thompson . Anyway my son complained about the speed of the new set up . So I did some speed testing . (repeated 3 times) Thompson Download speed 3000 mbps Dynalink 5000mbps . All using the same wire connected to the same computer . Now when I say repeated I mean swapping over routers and reconnecting to ISP Anyone any idea why for the speed difference? |

My phone extension is too long at about 25 feet (since upstairs), so may have to get a USB wireless adapter. But fast enough for me. How long is the phone extension? |
