| 1136582 | 2010-09-12 01:38:00 | Have you actually input a IP address into the printer ? If its a networked printer, connecting to a router, the printer HAS to have a IP address within the same range as the router. Read the Manual (welcome.solutions.brother.com) then follow its instructions Via the control panel on the printer, or I think from memory you can do it Via the Admin Utilities. Once you have a IP in the range of the router, when you add a printer, make sure the actual printer software is installed on the PC & Laptop, there is usually the option when installing it to locate a networked printer. IF the printer software is already installed, then it should automatically install the LAN drivers. |

| 1136586 | 2010-09-12 02:51:00 | if you uninstall & reinstall the printer it should ask you if you are installing it through USB or network & install the appropriate driver. Is bullguard still very slow? |

| 1136587 | 2010-09-12 04:40:00 | Thanks Greven might have to give that a try. Re Bullguard in what way slow it take a couple of hours to run a full scan but so does other programs and thats going to depend on size of hdd and file numbers, you can download a 30 day trial from there website. Cheers Wayne |

| 1136588 | 2010-09-12 06:30:00 | I don't mean to muddy the waters. But... Is there a computer task More Frustrating than setting up a network? I think not. I have tried this in the past & still have not got it right. PJ:groan: |
