But it's on the Herald (www.nzherald.co.nz) and ZB (www.newstalkzb.co.nz) website.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Even more interesting is how they managed to pull up his mugshot.

858714 2010-02-15 10:44:00 But that was before the mug shot supression.

Personally I am getting annoyed that the media reports names at all until conviction and certainly not things like "A teacher at XYZ school has been charged with ZYX".

The school has been identified and it casts doubt on ALL the teachers at that named school regardless of guilt or innocence.

In the event of a charge being leveled at a certain person then it should be over to the Justice system to advise the school, company or the employer that the person has been charged and that particular person is in custody or on bail as the case may be. I note that Police officers have been suspended on full pay while the so called system grinds very slowly on.

Further to that I see that the media are not quick to publish the not guilty verdicts in general.

Which by default identifies the person charged.

Bear in mind that person may not be guilty anyway as it has not yet been proven.

I agree. There should be name suppression for everyone until they are convicted and then none unless the rare circumstances require it.
