| 858580 | 2010-02-15 01:15:00 | I've had my eye on one of these (www.computerlounge.co.nz) as a replacement study lappy for SWMBO for a while (she starts studying again this week), and it's pretty much perfect, but now I'm wondering whether I should opt for a Core i3 or i5 model instead? What are they key differences at a similar clock speed between them in terms of battery life and performance (the latter being more important)? |

I'm not sure of the exact performance difference between a C2D and an i3, but there is one thing you have to keep in mind: Intel is rebranding some lower-end C2Ds as Core i3s.
