Interesting thought aint it. If you do put things in the context of today - we can cure the living and it is possible for a virgin birth - we artificially inseminate cows as well as people. There have been some who speculate that we may no longer need men. While I think that the Bible is an accurate account of what happened at the time, I think the interpretation may not be so accurate. I wonder if the scribes were describing something that they had no words for and so likened what they saw to what they knew. So now, instead of, "The noise sounded like thunder" it has been changed to "The noise was thunder." It would be interesting to be able to go back to those days and witness the happenings with a 21st century perspective. We, most probably, would write it up quite differently. |

Myself, I am agnostic (No Cicero, that is not a funny disease) I had a christian upbringing but have found that christians come in all forms. Some of them you wouldn't want to know at all. In fact, a hell of a lot of people have died, in God's name! I will just wait, and no doubt will either find Heaven, Hell or just blackness which won't matter cause I won't know about it! Who would also doubt the Muslim, Confucian or any other persons god? Not I! As a side to all this, I hear on the news that the Aussie nun is to be made a saint. Interesting! One of the clinchers was she was involved in a persons cancer cure. My corgi from some time ago had cancer, riddled with it at 8 yrs old. My vet mate did a biopsy and the results were pretty grim. Told me to take her home and make her last weeks happy. She had anything she wanted...chocolate chippy biscuits, potato chips etc. etc. After a few weeks the lumps started to go away and after 3 months she was back to being a normal healthy dog. Mate had the lab held sample re-analysed to see if there had been an error and it came back with the same dreaded cancer verdict. She lived for another 3 years without any problems. Question... should vet mate or I be considered for a sainthood? Or, is what he says about how cancer can spontaneously cure itself right, as evidence frequently shows in the human world. Let us not scoff!! Ken  |

We cure through science, the arch enemy of religion? And you still need a male to artificially knock whatever up whether its done traditionally or not, after all it is part of the 'miracle' of life. I was thinking more along the lines if the events written took place, today, things would be alot different, the bible would be a newspaper of the day, maybe two days. Then people who tried to spread the stories would be looked at as crazy, I could just see the footage on youtube now, some dude walks up to a leper and the leper is instantly cured, then the youtube replies: "fake!", "Dat wuZ soO cOOl! bUt FaKeRZ!!!", "wht was the song in the backgrnd? iwants to download it" etc etc |
