1136114 2010-09-21 07:43:00 Right mouse on the monitor on the taskbar whatever its called / bottom option. Change adapter settings. Double click / properties / tcp/ipv4. Change it to use the following ip address. Then find out what the valid ip range of the router is. Type in any ip between that range for the first ip address. It may put in a subnet mask ip, when you press tab. Then depending on who your ISP is, type in their Primary and Sec DNS server ip. Or just put in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 which is Google's. Then OK. Then reboot then see if it sticks, and gets on the net

Sorry about the delay in coming back to you Speedy. How do I find out what the valid IP range of the router is? The router is a DLink DSL-302G Generation II if that helps?

1136115 2010-09-21 08:26:00 Sorry, forgot to metion, she also advised that the modem was "reconfigured" for when she was working from home by her company at the time. As to what they did, I have no idea but she use to use VPN to log onto her work. Would this be the problem?

She also said that the problem has only started after she installed Microsoft Works (excel etc). Before that, there were no problems.
