1136852 2010-09-13 11:22:00 Hi all,

I want to throw an SSD drive into my ASUS N10J netbook (Intel 1.6ghz atom) to speed things up a bit.
Can anyone recommend a good value 2.5" 64/128GB SSD?

1136857 2010-09-13 23:28:00 I've got an X-25M - 80GB. Bought it when they cost over $550. now tell me that $389 is dear!

Make sure you have the firmware on them that enables TRIM if it isn't already installed.

If you do want a 120GB Corsair's is probably the cheapest.

1136858 2010-09-13 23:36:00 Lets be honest, I'm a cheap ass ... Considering you've got a 1.6Ghz CPU, and a 10" screen, I'd find it hard to justify to myself why I could spend that kinda money on a SSD to increase HDD performance.

Still, if you've got the money up your sleeve, why not?! :D To each their own ;)

1136859 2010-09-13 23:42:00 I have to agree with Chill, I wouldn't put one in a netbook unless you were planning on dropping it regularly... DeSade (984)

Good point, the SSD costs more than the whole netbook. That said, I have an Sandforce 100Gb 1200c in my old HP NX6320 lappy and wouldnt be without it now!, but it did cost $700+gst
