| 1138292 | 2010-09-19 08:04:00 | Step son has a new desktop using the above Asus motherboard M4A77TD with an AMD Phenon 2 black 555 edition. coupled with a single ATI Radeon 5700 GPU and a 500W PSU. It is constantly blue screening, using Google it seems the GPU can have issues with Win 7 although I don't think it is that as the blue screens seem to be pointing toward RAM at this point, currently testing one stick at a time it has 2X1Gb sticks. I have flashed the BIOS as it was quite an old version moved it up the BIOS history 5 places to the second most recent. Any thoughts |

| 1138293 | 2010-09-19 08:15:00 | Whats the stop error code?? Does it show a file / driver? Did you reset the settings / reconfigure the BIOS? Is the hdd 1 TB, and does it crash when it enters sleep mode / after you bring it out of sleep? And is the stop error one of these? STOP 0x0000007A STOP 0x00000077 STOP 0x000000F4 If its one of these stop errors, this may help support.microsoft.com |

| 1138294 | 2010-09-19 08:19:00 | I wasn't home when it started so don't know what the stop errors are until I can make it happen again. The BIOS is fine it is reconfigured. Just started Memtest86+ so will leave that running for now and see if it comes up with anything. Are there any programs I can test the GPU with that are compatible with 64bit Win7? 500Gb WD black edition HDD. No it seems to be happening when gaming or even just surfing so not really sure |

| 1138297 | 2010-09-19 09:38:00 | Looks like the ATI drivers - atikmdag.sys - are the cause of one of them.Did it crash at anytime during the install of Win7? Did you get the drivers from the ATI site?? Or windows update? And are they the latest? This may help with the 0x0000003B stop error, if this has got firewire onboard support.microsoft.com Thats if the firewire has been used (if its got it). The 0x00000024 stop error doesnt sound good. Could be file corruption. Is Ntune on this? |

No firewire on the mobo going to check win update just to make sure one didn't sneak through. Don't know what Ntune is |

Looks like they're unstable forums.amd.com Altho those were beta Altho this is similar www.sevenforums.com but its the Pro of that mobo, but with the same stop error (the memory management one). Any thoughts Built a system with this board at the beginning of the year..Damn thing kept locking up, in the end I went back to Computer Lounge regarding the RAM..It was a combo deal however the memory wasnt on the QVL, so they replaced with some Kingston RAM...Havent had any issues since! As for ATi drivers, they come out at least every month, sometimes everythings good, sometimes they brake other stuff....I guess he is using the PC for gaming hence the GPU type. Lucky he isnt doing XFire!...I heard 10.4 were stable drivers. |
