| 1137778 | 2010-09-16 22:58:00 | Is anyone aware of software that will clone a harddrive over a network. I have a synology server, which is just about full and I want to install a larger drive in it (1 tb, probably). |

| 1137781 | 2010-09-17 00:31:00 | Clone ?? Across a network to a Blank Drive -- it will need to be some sort of damn good software, esp if the PC you want to clone to doesn't have an OS (blank Drive). Question-- How will the software pickup / detect the PC that has an empty drive's IP address ??? it wont. What will work is you make a shared folder someplace on another PC, create an image of the current PC to that shared folder, then from the PC with the blank drive, boot the PC from the Imaging disc, and copy it back Similar to this (www.youtube.com). Personally I use Active@disk Image (http://www.disk-image.net/) at least 2-3 times a week on my workshop PC's when playing about to do exactly that -- the trial will allow you to make a bootable CD that will work fine - the trial lasts for 21 days I think. I actually made a video On Youtube (www.youtube.com) dragging an image back over the LAN for another posting in this forum. The drive on the PC is completely blank. Making the image is just as easy. |

| 1137784 | 2010-09-18 03:35:00 | Thanks everyone, for your responses. I took the drive out of the Synology device and put it in my PC, did the same with the new large drive and just used EASUS Todo Backup to do the clone job. Put the new drive into the Synology Server and it works:) |
