| 1137649 | 2010-09-16 00:05:00 | Hi all, Im going to install Win7 on a new PC, it's got 4gb ram - 256mb will be shared for o/b video (geforce) till it gets a real video card, and an AM3 x2 250 The question is, (ignoring the shared video ram) should I install 32bit or 64bit? Just like to know where we are at with 64bit these days... |

| 1137651 | 2010-09-16 00:11:00 | guess it's just tech. i gone to 64bit for my 2yr old PC - Quad 2.33Ghz. Everything works but my printer which is attached to a old lappie now via wireless networking. but cos i cannot network it on the x64, i need to jump onto a diff computer just to print, LOL. i've seen other stuff that manufacturers have no reason to upgrade drivers. like some film scanners. they say the old driver should work with x32 in win7 but they have no plans to upgrade to x64 but they continue to sell these scanners as new :lol: betya they will be discontinued when the supply chain runs out. maybe these days, people's thoughts are just buy a new one if it does not work but still go with x64 unless it's work related or your specialist PC for whatever task you have in mind. |

| 1137653 | 2010-09-16 01:08:00 | with the tech now i think, like h/w and s/w if for the few stuff doesn't work and it's not work related and not your dominant hobby that needs it, just dump that "few" part and replace it. come on we do that all the time anyway. we live in a disposable society :p |

| 1137654 | 2010-09-16 01:26:00 | If you're on Win7 unless you have a very low end notebook or netbook there is no reason to go with 32bit anymore. | wratterus (105) | ||
