| 860716 | 2010-02-22 20:27:00 | A mates got a Telecom 027 phone (cdma I Think?) on a contract basis. (Not Pre-Pay). He wants to bring it to Australia for a brief holiday but doesnt want work related calls and associated roaming costs following him and interfering with his holiday. However, he'd like to be able to use it if need be. So, the question is: Do these phones have SIM cards you can replace with say a Pre-Pay Aus card? My Vodafone is easy, just slip in a prepay Sim Card and youre away, but Im not familiar with 027, CDMA, interchangeability. Any help appreciated. :thanks |

| 860719 | 2010-02-22 21:49:00 | Yeah Telstra killed the Oz CDMA network back in April 2008. Any XT phone will work on the Telstra 3G or Next G network though, I'm pretty sure they run on 2100Mhz over there. | wratterus (105) | ||

| 860724 | 2010-02-22 22:20:00 | It would be the perfect time for your friend to buy an unlocked phone while he's over in Aussie though. If he gets the right one he could go with Vodafone, Telecom or 2Degrees when he gets back. | wratterus (105) | ||
