This may help to enlighten : www.lawaccess.lsa.govt.nz An extract:- Is there a time limit for recovering a debt? Yes – a debt must be recovered within six years. This time limit starts from when the debt is owed, unless you acknowledge the debt or pay part of it, in which case the time limit starts from the date of acknowledgement or of the last part-payment. If anyone had bothered reading my post number 5 and my link to this thread:- pressf1.co.nz they would have read "The Statute of Limitations means that a debt cannot be enforced 6 years after it was last acknowledged by the debtor." So at least I was not confused I'm pleased to say. |
