1137954 2010-09-18 12:19:00 GB and Asus may use higher-quality resistors, capacitors etc but I'm not too sure about that. I'm thinking all their PCB non-reference designs will just stick to the reference made by ATI and will only use better quality components for when they make their own PCB designs.

And also the after sales service, Sapphire isn't exactly the best in that department.

1137955 2010-09-18 13:06:00 Do you want HDMI?? Because that monitor doesn't have it

Incorrect, I have 2 of these monitors and they both have HDMI and built in speakers + DVI and D-Sun (analog) input.

1137956 2010-09-18 13:08:00 I would go for at least an 850W PSU, especially if you are planning to overclock. Deimos (5715)
1137957 2010-09-18 13:33:00 Nah, I don't think bk T is much of a power user, a 650W should suffice, even for a few years' worth of video card upgrades. I personally would get a 750W though, cause I never know when a chance to Crossfire or SLI on the cheap may arise! qazwsxokmijn (102)
1137958 2010-09-18 22:19:00 No, I'm not a 'power user' and no intention of over-clocking. However, I may add in a TV-tuner card and maybe another HDD. bk T (215)

Which model do you have? VX2433 or VX2450? Interested to know more about them. How do they perform compare to those LG or Samsung. Been to a few shops in Auckland but they don't have any unit on display! Can't find any reviews on VX2450.

1137960 2010-09-20 01:02:00 If I were you, I would ditch i7 Nehalem and go for i7 or i5 Lynnfield, reduce mainboard, CPU and RAM costs. Swap the 5850 for a GTX460 and the money saved would get you an SSD.
You dont upgrade often, so there is no future proofing in the mainboard and you wouldnt notice the difference between CPU's...With the i5 setup you only need 2 dimms, not 3, i5 boards are cheaper, so is the 460!

1137961 2010-09-20 01:11:00 Highly recommend the AW2310 monitors from Alienware through dell.co.nz.

1137962 2010-09-20 01:34:00 I would always get a better PSU than needed.

PSUs are most efficient when running at about 50% of capacity, anyway.
