860324 2010-02-21 18:37:00 If I had to go for any of those four you mentioned, I'd personally take the Starlet.
That said, qazwsxokmijn is right, see something like this:

My sunny was a little older back in the day, but it was a great car :D

860326 2010-02-21 19:02:00 Im guessing Darkstar wants Manual, prob the way to go on older cars under 2 liters where Auto's eat so much power, not so much the case these days.

Starlets are hot with the kids atm as they are rear real drive but that can also mean thrashed, much the same for that Corolla. Id also look at Honda Preludes and Mazda AZ3's both look better imo, although front wheel drive.

860327 2010-02-21 19:07:00 Buying a 'cheap' car, and you may (most likely you will) end up with expensive repairs just to keep it going..

My first Toyota was $1000. I did no repairs to it at all until I broke it.
This one cost $1500. In 4 years I still have not had to do anything other than tyres. It has done 330,000km and uses no oil.

Corollas are FWD since way back when. A RWD corolla will cost you around 10-15k.

Toyota FTW.

My father has had a landcruiser nearly as long as I have been alive (70 Series). Done nearly a million clicks - tough as nails. He did a motor/tranny rebuild a few ago @ 650k odd km.

My uncle had a corolla for over a decade. My aunt has had a Prado going on 14 years.

My grand uncle has had his Landcruiser since the 60s...

I have had a Hilux for 5 years this march.

Toyotas are built to last...

Edit: And you can still get genuine parts for them!!!

Edit 2: How many other car manufacturers have had wars named after them???
/thread :p

Yea i said Starlets are rear real drive I wasn't referring to corollas. I believe later starlets changed to FWD.

Also watch out for floor mats jamming accelerator, accelerator pedals sticking, brake lag and steering issues :P
