The great majority of small boys have committed innumerable atrocities on small animals such as frogs and flies. Could we just call him an immature animal and find a suitable place for him until he changes? It's not that I think he will ever amount to anything of value, but oddly enough he should expect treatment representing our standards, not his. This civilisation stuff carries some pretty weird baggage |

He did, and made comments indicating it was all great entertainment. I doubt the majority of boys have done extremely cruel things to animals either, I don't know any that have done anything worse than annoying an animal. |

| 859959 | 2010-02-21 10:38:00 | To the best of my recall, the experiments involving harm to animals were at least equalled and probably exceeded by the experiments involving machinery modifications and "improvements" for which there was no shortage of volunteer test pilots. Gravity was regarded as the greatest aid available to getting a decent sort of speed. Very little effort was expended on "what will that cause" or contemplation of what safety precautions should be employed. Injuries were handy as a sort of scorecard; and bandages had a certain value in protecting the knees and elbows from the gravel rashes of the improved experiments. Damn miracle that we weren't all permanently maimed. The local fauna just had to take it's chance in the march of science, whether it was towlines and drogue chutes glued to wasps, or finding the correct angle to let a 7 year old wrestle a cow to the ground. (Hint: the bigger the cows horns, the better the chance of success, but speed was essential to avoid nasty wounds.) |

| 859962 | 2010-02-21 20:14:00 | No but cats are one of the most inherently evil creatures on this planet, they will happily torture and torment other smaller animals for hours before killing. Unlike say a fox or a stoat that goes for the instant kill, it's no wonder cats are associated with witches and devils. Like the sandfly cats have no real use | gary67 (56) | ||

I have many times, in fact a couple of days ago a cat with a bay rabbit was doing just that:yuck: Not that I agree with what this guy did. TV1 showing it last night @ 7-40pm with Children still up not once but 4 or 5 times is another sadistic matter of course. The producers in my opinion must have enjoyed it to show it so many times, I did NOT!!! |
