1138167 2010-09-18 12:57:00 I recently had a new build from ComputerLounge with Windows 7 64-bit installed.

I am thinking of ordering the LG GH22NS50 22X SATA OEM DVD WRITER.
Are Windows 7 64-bit drivers available?
Would you recommend this DVD Writer?

I have a Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3 motherboard installed.

1138169 2010-09-18 21:49:00 Personally speaking, I have seen a lot of failures with LG - I used to use them in builds, but many would fail after 6 -11 months - These days i use either Lite-On or Asus. wainuitech (129)

I tried putting the DVD Writer from my old computer in my newly built computer from ComputerLounge. This was my original plan so I did not include a new DVD Writer in the build.

My old DVD writer is a Super Multi DVD Writer Model:GSA H55L dated December 2007. I installed it in my new Windows 7 64-bit computer. It powered up and Windows installed a new driver. The computer's windows explorer tells me that I now have a Floppy Disk Drive in A: which is news to me.

I notice that ComputerLounge are using the LG GH22NS50 22X SATA OEM DVD WRITER (mentioned in my first post) in some of their new builds. Not a bad price at $55 (cheaper is not always better).

1138171 2010-09-19 00:00:00 LG GH22LS50 22x LightScribe Black SATA DVD Writer was the one they sold me about 6 weeks ago - no problems, but I haven't done much with it yet. :(

Just used it to play music, set up new software - basic stuff.
