860379 2010-02-22 00:17:00 Huh... And Wellington trains are usually much more reliable than Orclands bob_doe_nz (92)
860380 2010-02-22 00:20:00 Every time I've used them I've been very impressed, what's suddenly started happening now to stuff them up? wratterus (105)

Just as a guess, but:

Middle management getting more and more involved in the day to day running of the operation on the ground, justifying their role to upper level management by causing lower level staff dealing with actual problems to have to raise more paperwork detailing work done, staff becoming more and more disenchanted with the whole process disengaging from the job and just going through the motions.

Management insistence that all worker conversations related to the job go through management staff and not directly worker to worker. In fact workers really shouldn't talk at all.

Final result: even though much larger numbers overall are involved in the process, increasing numbers of management types and less workers actually doing the job.

F'ups everywhere. lol.

"Last Monday thousands of passengers were stranded during evening rush hour when a contractor's mistake shut down the network near Wellington Railway Station. A day later, a second overhead wire problem stranded almost 400 passengers and delayed many more. "

The contractor needs more fixing than the overhead wiring :D

ONTRACK needs to be integrated into LTNZ methinks (having also omitted out on the 20m or less link between Newmarket Platform 4 and the western line).

DO yourself a favour and get a car. After I missed part of an exam, I will never use the trains again. Their management also didn't care, and they don't provide any compensation. That's what a monopoly does. I see someone is suggesting a deathmatch between telecoms XT network and wellingtons trains, for reliability.

860387 2010-02-22 04:07:00 That said, Auckland's trains aren't much better. www.nzherald.co.nz

robbyp, Telecom are a monopoly and they provided compensation twice.
