859595 2010-02-18 07:13:00 The Sensible Sentencing Trust is now spreading it's politically correct tentacles by suggesting that students and staff at Universities shouldn't have relationships. I gather they want to fire any staff who have any relationships with students and send the students off to regular counselling sessions. Of course many staff and students are about the same age, many students are mature people, but that doesn't matter to Garth and the gang.

What next - Garth will want to tell you what to watch on TV or no doubt censor the internet viewing. Must be about five minutes away from making church attendance compulsory.

And all this will prevent crime how??

859598 2010-02-18 07:49:00 When I was a tutor, there was a policy of no relationships with students and it was taken seriously.

Whether its for crime or not, its all about maintaining a professional relationship/atmosphere without any bias being shown or even perceived.

As it should be.

I agree it should be a case of professional ethics, but reality is post-graduate students mix with staff in bars, often they are about the same age and don't even know one is a staff member and one a student .

None of these rules would have stopped Clayton Weatherston, a psycho doesn't stop to worry about ethics .

So you actually agree with the SST then that Teachers and Students should not have relationships but for different reasons.

Or are they all so eager to **** that they don't take a minute or two to get to know each other?
