I have a Belkin F5D8636-4 v2 Full N wireless modem router

The problem is that every half hour or so the external internet access will halt to all wireless devices, but all Ethernet devices work.
At this time, i go onto the only page i can access, the router config page and check that the internet is still connected, it is and never disconnected.
The wifi on all devices shows connected and stays connected but no internet for around 2 mins. after that it will resume. All streaming internet such as skype or youtube will continue to stream.

Just when i try to access a fresh webpage it happens

1139156 2010-09-23 07:22:00 Hi and welcome to PressF1.

Those Belkin devices are known to cause troubles.

To be honest, I'd try and see if you could borrow a friend / family members, or get your ISP to ship you one out for free and see if that helps :)

See: www.c2s.co.nz

The other question would be: Who's your ISP?

Cheers

Setup a Belkin 150N for a friend. After a day or 2, it lost connection totally for a few days and then back again. It was not able to detect the modem. But it runs fine when connected with ethernet cable. The SSID channel is set to auto by default. Don't use the default. Select any channel. I chose channel 11 and it worked fine for the last 4 months till today without any drop in connection. I hope this works for you too.

Unfortunately my ISP is telecom, the strange thing is that it happens to all the modem/routers ive had, Ive had the thomson tg585 from telecom, and that was replaced several times. It warped because it got so hot. They're absolutely useless!

I have always had a personalized SSID. The channel i use is channel 2,6 because it had 2 channels "for maximized performance" It seems my neighbours have severely boosted their signal because i still get signal down the road by about 500 metres

Also my belkin is not the 150 its the full 300

1139160 2010-09-27 22:47:00 I Have managed to fixed the problem (so far). I looked under my house and when they installed new jackpoints 5 years ago, they used cheap extension type phone cable. So i bought some new proper phone cable from Metron, connected it up, it hasnt disconnected so far. Fingers Crossed
