| 1138950 | 2010-09-24 03:05:00 | But games like Crysis, StartCraft2 (both of which loads very slowly on my HDD but runs smoothly on the machine once loaded) will benefit from a better loading time with a SSD upgrade right? Isn't it the point for us gamers? I haven't tested Crysis loading times between my HDD and SSD, but with the SSD it's certainly not an 'instant' load - probably a few seconds faster than the HDD, but would still take around 15 seconds IIRC. I'm not sure how the whole thing works, with my very limited knowledge about programming etc I would expect things to be almost instant as I have eliminated any mechanical parts, but obviously the loading times doesn't reflect that. |
