Practical questions that gets marked? Get Marked . IT lingo into every day language - everyday language Yep I think you should go and tell them you need one included in the course for sure . :D I don't mind doing a course that has more written stuff . It does add to a person's skills at the end of the day . But then again, internet chat forums are more casual and quick . . . I touch type at 65 wpm . . or more when I am brain dumping . . . One of my other sentence is that re: overdue work . Because I reported to management . We require the departments to provide information to us because they are in the know how . Because work are provided to us well overdue or not at all, we have to use relationship management to help them and accept work that is overdue but not that much overdue so we can do last minute work and work 12 hour sessions . . because they may extend deadlines but we cannot as we are under management . I've worked 8am - 8pm at days, both Saturday and Sunday with no bonuses . . . . |

| 861221 | 2010-02-24 21:46:00 | One of my adult literacy students had a business degree but had a problem knowing how to spell certain words. He found himself using several words where one would have been adquate. As he explained, it is not the role of the university to teach people how to spell. Not so many years ago the often underrated 'Madam Secretary' would have made things a lot easier for those (often very intelligent in other aspects) who struggled with spelling/grammar; but now so much of it is done by the professional/business person on their own computer. Spellcheck does not solve all problems. When I am working with an adult student I find myself going back to my own primary school days, where I am forever grateful I had very good, conscientious teachers. Oh yes, we did have tests and exams then, too! Marnie |

Not only the grammar of the sentence but the statement - you have to help accept work? Tell them everyone will go off on holiday instead then. |

That you just deal with it ... and management are not going to accept excuses, and because you are right at the firing line you get the finger first ... We use relationship mgmt to help them work better so they know what to provide us and more on time. Until we get their piece of work we cannot do ours ... and mgmt cannot be provided their piece. Mgmt meaning GMs and the CEO. |

I suppose you do realise that English is not Nomad's first language? If so then you should be constructively helping, not criticising in a somewhat disparaging way. |
