| 1139735 | 2010-09-26 21:05:00 | Just did my daily checks and found that the amount of spam caught by mailmarshal decreased in the last few days and had zero :clap for the weekend and nothing so far today. Normally the spam count is around 800 per day. Anyone else noticed that? | ronyville (10611) | ||
| 1139736 | 2010-09-26 21:50:00 | I have had a 99% reduction in spam here as well. Been like that for maybe the last 3 months. My ISP says that they are not filtering any in coming mail, though they can, filtering is set my the account holder. There was early on when the spam just suddenly dried up, there was one spammer that used to stay quiet for a few days then do a spam run over a couple of days, 100+ per hour with spam for watches, next time it would be a run for something else. Even that spammer has disappeared, at least on my 2 accounts. Still get the odd russian love letter and the runs of the money refunds from the CIA, warnings about my illegial money transfers from the FBI, hours to live cancer victims, etc. No spam in either account for the last 4 days including nothing from all my bank managers offering to share there perfectly legal cash windfalls. Good to go from probably close to 1000 a day to nothing.:clap Of course when we were getting all that spam, it was all caught by Mailwasher anyway so none of it actually got through to the inbox. I feel so loney now............ |

| 1139738 | 2010-09-27 23:44:00 | Are u sure these filters actually catch spam?? I have W7 on one box along with puppy linux and my partner has XP on another box. Going back many many tears I can not recall getting any spam ever. A friend with similar set up but with SPAMFIGHTER has (so it says) has had 4,500 spams caught in the last 12 months ?????. |

But Mailwasher shows you a complete list of all mail currently on the ISP mail server, spam, worts, friends, the lot, you can white list by filter or by email address those that you will accept, black list the spam which you can see right there in front of you. Then just delete what you don't want and download what is remaining. Once up and running, it takes me all of a few seconds to mass delete tick the spam and then download the remaining messages. |
