863160 2010-03-02 07:27:00 I submitted this to the PC World chat forum but it might be best here.

I have a SONY Bravia 40" LCD TV.

It has developed a fault in that a vertical line appears about 1cm from the the left and is about 20mm wide. The colour is generally green. The line extends for the full depth of the screen.

I could have an expert "look" at it for a cost to tell me if the fault could be repaired but..... is there anyone here with TV experience who might be able to offer an opinion as to the problem and if it could be fixed?

863161 2010-03-02 07:36:00 I don't know a lot about lcd's but with computer monitors you can get that sorta thing with a signal issue, like in a laptop the cable connecting the screen to the video card can come loose and cause random issues.

Has it been moved recently?

btw I could be way off track here

863162 2010-03-02 08:26:00 Could be a problem with pixels - I had purple patches on a Grundig 32 in LCD - Got it replacement vlaue under the extended warranty - Could be a Warranty Issue KenESmith (6287)
863163 2010-03-02 08:33:00 How long have you had the TV. If outside warranty should still be covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act.
