I upload video of vinyl records onto youtube, but have been using the internal mic as a sound source so as to avoid getting involved with video editing software, but the sound quality of the resulting videos is garbage. Anyone know a way to hook up any kind of cheap camera to a sound source (simple audio out to camera)?

Unless you are prepared to pay for a top quality mic - much too expensive for your purposes - then you are wasting your time. Record directly. It's the only way if you want acceptable quality.

You upload a video but do not use video editing software?

You could try Audacity to take out the snap, crackle and pop which may help.

Vinyl records have video tracks?

In over 40 years of collecting, how did I miss that?
