| 862632 | 2010-03-01 09:07:00 | If the nails go into old native 10x1 or 8x1 the nails will often split the timber so the screws are a much better way of fixing the roof. I would never use anything else now. +1 if you have lead heads its one old roof. putting new nails into the same holes often ends up with loose nails and your back to square one. you can angle nail it but old timber doesn't always hack it. screws overcome the problem. |
